Bottle opener is handmade from the actual maple flooring that was in the Recreational Facility, Building #300.
In 2019, the Recreational Facility was sold to Kalitta Air and repurposed, the floor was to be removed and destroyed.
Before that happened, volunteers from the Wurtsmith Air Museum worked tirelessly to save the center of the floor. We hope to have this section rebuilt, and on display at the museum in the near future.
The bottle openers are made from the extra flooring that was saved.
This is a limited item and a piece of Wurtsmith Air Force Base.
Each opener includes a laminated photograph of the floor prior to removal.
