Greetings Wurtsmith AFB veterans, neighbors and friends –

The Wurtsmith Air Museum is housed in the former fighter hangers,  and are in desperate need of roof repairs. As you might imagine, 60+ year-old metal buildings are no match for Michigan’s notoriously nasty winters. Small leaks and big leaks (that used to be small) now threaten many of the exhibits.

A conservative estimate for needed repairs is $100,000. The Museum does not receive Federal, State or private funding, and depends entirely on donations, gift shop sales and admission fees to operate so this is a huge expense for us to handle.  Research and discussions are underway to identify cost-sharing and funding opportunities through private partnerships, but urgent action is needed now.

Wurtsmith AFB not only played a very important role in US Air Force history, but also in the lives of those who served our country while stationed here.

Please help us keep the exhibits dry and safe for future visitors.

To donate, please select either the GoFundMe, PayPal or visit our online store and check under the heading miscellaneous.
