About Us / Donate

The Wurtsmith Air Museum (WAM) was established after Wurtsmith Air Force Base was closed in 1993 and opened on May 22, 1994.  The museum occupies three hangars that are filled with displays and aircraft. Currently we are an organization of 88 members that maintain and operates the museum, we are dedicated to preserving the history of Wurtsmith Air Force Base and aviation history in Northeastern Michigan. All income from admissions and gift shop sales go to maintain the museum

WAM is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our facilities are handicapped accessible.
